Mission Statement
Keep Plains a safe city for visitors and resident alike, by reducing crime and maintaining livable neighborhoods.
The 9 sworn and civilian employees of the Police Department serve the citizens of Plains through crime prevention, criminal investigations, community affairs, neighborhood policing and an overall delivery of police services.

| Chief Kevin Brooks | |
| Has been a law enforcement officer since 1995 where he started as a communications officer for the city of Summerville. He worked for the cities of Fort Oglethorpe and Ringgold, as a Patrolman. He worked for the Department of Transportation Enforcement Division as an enforcement officer for the office of Investigations. In 2005 he worked for the City of Varnell as the only Detective handling all investigations. In 2007 he was certified in the State of Tennessee where he worked for the City of East Ridge as the school resource officer and gang investigator. He has specialized training in Internal Affairs Investigations, Criminal Investigations, Gang Investigations, Chief’s Executive Training, Field Training Officer, Instructor Development in Tennessee and Gang Investigations Instructor in Tennessee. Chief Brooks has been the Chief of Police in Plains, since 2011 and supervises a department of seven professional officers. | |

| Has been a law enforcement officer since 2008 where he has worked as an officer for the city of Dawson Police Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Plains Police Department. He is specialized in the operation of the Intoximeter 5000; Radar, Taser, Gangs, ethics and professionalism as well as Emergency Vehicle Operations and community oriented policing. | |

| Has been a law enforcement officer since 2010 where he has worked as an officer for Terrell County Sheriff’s Office, Plains Police Department. He is spcialized in radar Intoximeter 5000, Taser and Domestic Violence. | |

| Has been in a law enforcement officer since May 2011 where he has been employed by Plains Police Department. Before becoming a law enforcement officer, James Ramsey was a retired drill instructor for the United States Army. | |

| Has been a law enforcement officer since 1985 he is lieutenant with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division and an Officer for the Plains Police Department. He has specialized training in Intoximeter 5000, Taser, NIMS, bonding procedures, court orders, emergency medical instructor, supervision, management, and public relations. | |

| Has been a law enforcement officer since 2005, and has worked for Forest Park P.D., Montezuma P.D., and Reynolds P.D.. He is certified on the Intoximeter Model 5000, Radar, Advanced Firearms, Roadside Impaired Driving, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving, High Risk Interviews, Advance Traffic Law, Evidence Presentation, and is a Domestic Violence Investigator. He speaks fluent Spanish. | |
